Miel Detail Co. Service Terms

Detailing Service Agreement & Service Terms

Effective Date: August 18, 2026
Last Updated: August 18, 2026

These Detailing Service Agreement & Service Terms (“Service Terms”) establish the terms under which Miel Detail Co. provides mobile automotive detailing services.

These Service Terms are intended to establish clear expectations between Miel Detail Co. (“Miel Detail Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the individual authorizing services (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”).

By affirmatively authorizing a service and accepting these Service Terms when presented, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to the terms applicable to the authorized service.

These Service Terms supplement Miel Detail Co.’s Terms & Conditions, Booking & Cancellation Policy, Payment & Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, service estimate, invoice, and any service-specific authorization applicable to your appointment.

Nothing in these Service Terms is intended to waive or limit any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.

1. Authorization to Perform Services

By authorizing an appointment, you authorize Miel Detail Co. to perform the specific detailing services identified in your booking confirmation, estimate, work order, invoice, or other service documentation.

Authorization applies only to the agreed scope of work.

Miel Detail Co. will not knowingly perform materially different additional services resulting in an additional charge without obtaining authorization from you or another person you have lawfully authorized to approve additional work.

2. Authority to Authorize Work on the Vehicle

By requesting services, you represent that you:

  • Own the vehicle; or
  • Have sufficient authority from the vehicle owner to authorize the requested work.

You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission from a registered owner, lessor, employer, fleet operator, rental company, or other person or entity having an ownership interest in the vehicle.

3. Vehicle Information

You agree to provide reasonably accurate information regarding the vehicle and its condition.

This may include:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Vehicle type
  • Exterior and interior condition
  • Known modifications
  • Existing coatings
  • Paint protection film
  • Vinyl wraps
  • Repainted or repaired surfaces
  • Known damage
  • Other information reasonably relevant to the requested service

Photographs and descriptions supplied before an appointment assist with service planning but may not reveal every condition.

4. Pre-Service Vehicle Inspection

Miel Detail Co. may conduct a visual inspection before beginning work.

The inspection may identify and document conditions including:

  • Scratches
  • Swirl marks
  • Rock chips
  • Dents
  • Cracks
  • Paint defects
  • Oxidation
  • Clear-coat failure
  • Water spots
  • Wheel damage
  • Glass damage
  • Loose trim
  • Failing adhesives
  • Interior stains
  • Tears
  • Worn materials
  • Electronic or mechanical warnings
  • Other visible defects

The purpose of the inspection is to document reasonably observable conditions and determine whether the requested services appear appropriate.

A pre-service inspection is not a mechanical, structural, electrical, safety, collision, or comprehensive vehicle inspection.

The inability to observe or photograph a particular pre-existing condition does not establish that the condition was caused by Miel Detail Co.

5. Vehicle Photography and Documentation

Miel Detail Co. may photograph or otherwise document the vehicle before, during, and after service for legitimate business purposes including:

  • Recording pre-existing conditions
  • Documenting work performed
  • Quality control
  • Customer communication
  • Insurance matters
  • Fraud prevention
  • Claims investigation
  • Dispute resolution
  • Business recordkeeping

Operational documentation does not automatically constitute permission to publicly use personally identifying customer information.

Any public promotional use of vehicle photographs may be governed by separate consent or authorization where appropriate.

6. Customer Disclosure of Known Conditions

You should notify Miel Detail Co. before service of any known condition that could affect safe or appropriate detailing.

This includes known:

  • Repainted panels
  • Body repairs
  • Clear-coat failure
  • Paint damage
  • Loose trim
  • Damaged badges or emblems
  • Cracked glass
  • Damaged window tint
  • Paint protection film
  • Vinyl wraps
  • Ceramic coatings
  • Aftermarket components
  • Electrical problems
  • Water leaks
  • Loose interior components
  • Fragile materials
  • Previous unsuccessful repairs
  • Other unusual conditions

Failure to disclose a condition does not automatically waive your legal rights. However, undisclosed conditions may affect the methods Miel Detail Co. can safely use and the results reasonably achievable.

7. Pre-Existing Damage and Deterioration

Miel Detail Co. is not responsible for damage, deterioration, defects, wear, or failures that existed before service or that result from an underlying pre-existing condition rather than the detailing service.

Examples include:

  • Scratches
  • Chips
  • Dents
  • Cracks
  • Rust
  • Corrosion
  • Oxidation
  • Clear-coat failure
  • Paint delamination
  • Faded paint
  • Brittle plastics
  • Cracked leather
  • Worn upholstery
  • Loose stitching
  • Loose trim
  • Failing adhesive
  • Damaged emblems
  • Cracked or chipped glass
  • Damaged wheels
  • Failing window tint
  • Deteriorated rubber
  • Previously repaired surfaces
  • Improperly installed components

Cleaning may remove dirt, oils, fillers, dressings, waxes, residue, oxidation, or contamination that previously concealed a defect.

A pre-existing defect may therefore become more visible after cleaning without having been caused by the detailing service.

8. Delicate, Aged, Loose, or Deteriorated Materials

Detailing may involve water, cleaning chemicals, towels, brushes, vacuum equipment, compressed air, steam where applicable, agitation, pressure washing, polishing equipment, and other professional detailing methods.

Aged, improperly installed, repaired, loose, brittle, deteriorated, damaged, or defective components may react unpredictably even to otherwise reasonable detailing procedures.

Miel Detail Co. may modify or decline treatment of a component when we reasonably believe proceeding would create an unacceptable risk of damage.

9. Repainted and Previously Repaired Surfaces

Repainted or repaired surfaces may differ from original factory finishes in:

  • Paint thickness
  • Adhesion
  • Hardness
  • Durability
  • Chemical resistance
  • Heat resistance
  • Polishing tolerance

Customers should disclose known bodywork, refinishing, touch-up work, paint blending, or repainting.

Miel Detail Co. may modify or decline treatment when a repaired surface appears unsuitable for the requested process.

10. Paint Protection Film, Vinyl Wraps, Decals, and Graphics

Customers should disclose known paint protection film (“PPF”), vinyl wraps, decals, stripes, graphics, protective films, aftermarket emblems, and similar materials.

Aged, damaged, improperly installed, lifting, peeling, cracked, bubbling, or deteriorated materials may be particularly susceptible to cleaning processes.

Miel Detail Co. may avoid, modify, or discontinue treatment of an affected area when appropriate.

Miel Detail Co. is not responsible for failure resulting from pre-existing deterioration, defective installation, poor adhesion, age, previous damage, or another underlying condition, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

11. Existing Ceramic Coatings and Protective Products

You should disclose known ceramic coatings or other specialized protective treatments when relevant.

Cleaning, chemical decontamination, mechanical decontamination, polishing, mineral-removal treatments, or other corrective procedures may weaken, alter, or remove existing:

  • Wax
  • Sealant
  • Ceramic protection
  • Dressings
  • Top coatings
  • Other surface treatments

When removal or alteration is inherent in the authorized process, such alteration is considered an expected consequence of the service.

12. Exterior Washing

Exterior detailing may involve pre-treatment, foam, water, pressure washing, hand washing, brushes, microfiber materials, drying equipment, compressed or blown air, chemical cleaners, and protective products.

Miel Detail Co. will use methods and products we consider reasonably appropriate for the vehicle and authorized service.

No wash process can guarantee prevention of every microscopic mark or reveal every defect concealed beneath contamination.

13. Wheels and Tires

Wheel cleaning may reveal pre-existing:

  • Curb rash
  • Corrosion
  • Oxidation
  • Pitting
  • Staining
  • Failing clear coat
  • Previous repair
  • Chemical damage
  • Embedded brake contamination

Miel Detail Co. provides cosmetic cleaning and detailing and does not inspect or certify the mechanical or structural safety of wheels, tires, brakes, or related components.

14. Glass

Glass may contain pre-existing:

  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Scratches
  • Pitting
  • Mineral deposits
  • Etching
  • Wiper damage
  • Tint damage
  • Other defects

Water-spot or mineral-removal treatments may improve glass but cannot guarantee removal of permanent etching or damage.

Miel Detail Co. may decline aggressive correction where the condition of the glass makes further treatment inappropriate.

15. Interior Cleaning

Interior detailing may involve vacuuming, compressed air, brushes, microfiber materials, cleaners, protectants, steam where appropriate, extraction where appropriate, and other professional methods.

The appropriate method depends on the material and condition encountered.

Some materials may be too worn, damaged, delicate, or deteriorated for aggressive treatment.

Miel Detail Co. may modify treatment to reduce the risk of damage.

16. Stains

Stain removal results depend on:

  • Substance involved
  • Material affected
  • Age of stain
  • Previous cleaning attempts
  • Heat exposure
  • Dye transfer
  • Chemical reactions
  • Depth of penetration

Some stains permanently alter the underlying material.

Unless expressly guaranteed in writing for a particular service, stain treatment is performed on an improvement basis and complete removal is not guaranteed.

17. Odors

Odors may originate within carpeting, upholstery, seat foam, ventilation systems, headliners, insulation, spilled liquids, biological materials, smoke residue, mold, or other areas inaccessible through ordinary detailing.

Cleaning may reduce an odor without eliminating its underlying source.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, odor treatment is performed on an improvement basis and permanent odor elimination is not guaranteed.

18. Pet Hair

Pet hair may become deeply embedded in carpeting, upholstery, seams, and fabrics.

Pet-hair removal may require substantial additional labor.

If the condition exceeds the scope reasonably anticipated for the booked service, Miel Detail Co. may recommend an additional service or charge before proceeding.

Complete removal of every individual hair cannot be guaranteed.

19. Sand and Embedded Debris

Sand, soil, plant material, fibers, and other debris may become embedded beneath seats, inside carpet fibers, beneath trim, or in areas that cannot reasonably be accessed without disassembly.

Standard detailing does not include vehicle disassembly unless specifically agreed.

Complete removal of inaccessible debris cannot be guaranteed.

20. Headliners

Vehicle headliners may rely on adhesives that deteriorate with age, heat, moisture, or previous cleaning.

For this reason, Miel Detail Co. may use limited moisture and agitation on headliners.

Pre-existing adhesive failure, sagging, staining, discoloration, or deterioration may prevent complete cleaning.

21. Leather, Vinyl, Plastics, and Specialty Materials

Interior materials can deteriorate from age, sunlight, heat, previous chemical exposure, body oils, abrasion, or improper prior treatment.

Cleaning may reveal discoloration, coating failure, cracking, wear, dye loss, or other conditions that were previously concealed.

Miel Detail Co. may adjust products or techniques based on the apparent condition of the material.

22. Screens, Electronics, Controls, and Sensors

Modern vehicles contain sensitive electronics.

Miel Detail Co. will use reasonable care around:

  • Touchscreens
  • Instrument displays
  • Cameras
  • Sensors
  • Switches
  • Controls
  • Speakers
  • Charging ports
  • Electronic modules
  • Aftermarket electronics

Customers should disclose known electronic problems or aftermarket installations.

The occurrence or discovery of an electrical, software, battery, sensor, or component problem during or following service does not by itself establish that the condition was caused by Miel Detail Co.

23. Paint Enhancement, Machine Polishing, and Paint Correction

When authorized, machine polishing or paint correction may involve controlled mechanical refinement of the painted surface and removal of a microscopic amount of paint or clear coat.

Results depend upon factors including:

  • Paint thickness
  • Clear-coat condition
  • Paint hardness
  • Defect depth
  • Previous polishing
  • Previous repairs
  • Vehicle age
  • Manufacturer paint characteristics

Not every scratch, swirl, etching mark, or defect can or should be completely removed.

Miel Detail Co. may intentionally leave a deeper defect when further correction could unnecessarily compromise the integrity or longevity of the finish.

Preservation of the paint system takes priority over maximum defect removal.

24. Paint Thickness

Where appropriate and reasonably possible, Miel Detail Co. may use paint-thickness measurements when performing corrective polishing.

A paint-thickness gauge has limitations and may not accurately measure every panel, material, repair, substrate, body component, or coating layer.

A reading does not guarantee the remaining thickness of the clear coat specifically.

25. Water Spots and Mineral Deposits

Water spots range from removable surface deposits to permanent etching.

Treatment may involve specialized chemicals, mechanical polishing, glass polishing, or other corrective processes.

Some damage may be permanent or unsafe to completely remove.

No guarantee of complete water-spot removal is made unless expressly stated in writing.

26. Engine Bay Detailing

When engine-bay detailing is offered and authorized, customers should disclose known:

  • Electrical problems
  • Exposed wiring
  • Aftermarket wiring
  • Intake modifications
  • Missing covers
  • Loose connections
  • Damaged connectors
  • Fluid leaks
  • Other relevant defects

Miel Detail Co. may decline engine-bay detailing where conditions create an unreasonable risk.

Engine-bay detailing is cosmetic and is not mechanical diagnosis, maintenance, or repair.

27. Personal Property

Customers should remove personal property before service, particularly:

  • Cash
  • Jewelry
  • Electronics
  • Identification
  • Financial documents
  • Medication
  • Keys
  • Fragile items
  • Sentimental items
  • Firearms
  • Weapons
  • Other valuables

Miel Detail Co. may decline to handle personal items that create a safety, privacy, legal, or damage concern.

Miel Detail Co. is not responsible for undisclosed or unsecured personal property left inside the vehicle except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

28. Firearms, Weapons, Sharps, and Dangerous Items

Customers must remove firearms, weapons, needles, sharps, controlled substances, and other dangerous or unlawful items before service.

If such an item is discovered, Miel Detail Co. may immediately stop service when appropriate for safety.

Applicable cancellation or rescheduling policies may apply.

29. Biohazards and Unsafe Contamination

Standard detailing does not include professional biohazard remediation.

Miel Detail Co. may refuse or discontinue service involving:

  • Blood
  • Feces
  • Urine
  • Vomit
  • Needles
  • Significant mold
  • Pest infestation
  • Unknown chemical substances
  • Other potentially hazardous contamination

Miel Detail Co. may require specialized remediation before detailing proceeds.

30. Child Safety Seats

For safety and liability reasons, Miel Detail Co. does not certify the installation of child safety seats.

Customers are encouraged to remove child safety seats before an interior service if they want the underlying area cleaned.

The customer is responsible for proper reinstallation and verification of the seat before subsequent use.

31. Personal Belongings and Inaccessible Areas

Customers should remove unnecessary belongings before interior detailing.

Areas blocked by personal property may be omitted if they cannot reasonably be accessed.

Standard detailing does not include extensive organization of customer belongings unless expressly agreed.

32. Closed Compartments

Glove compartments, center consoles, trunks, cargo compartments, and other closed storage areas will only be cleaned when included within the authorized service and when access is appropriate.

Customers should remove confidential, valuable, dangerous, or sensitive items before service.

33. Vehicle Keys and Access

The customer may be required to provide a physical key, key card, remote, mobile access, or other means of accessing the vehicle.

By providing vehicle access, the customer authorizes Miel Detail Co., when reasonably necessary for the authorized service, to:

  • Unlock the vehicle
  • Start the vehicle
  • Place the vehicle into accessory mode
  • Open applicable compartments
  • Adjust seats when necessary for cleaning
  • Reposition the vehicle a reasonable distance when necessary for service

This authorization does not permit unrelated or recreational operation of the vehicle.

34. Vehicle Battery

Detailing may require doors, trunks, lighting, accessory systems, or other vehicle functions to remain active for periods of time.

Miel Detail Co. will use reasonable care to avoid unnecessary battery drain.

However, weak, aged, defective, improperly maintained, or previously discharged batteries may lose charge during ordinary vehicle access.

The discovery of a battery problem during or following service does not by itself establish that Miel Detail Co. caused the condition.

35. Service Location

The customer is responsible for providing a lawful, reasonably accessible, and safe location for mobile detailing.

The customer is responsible for obtaining any required permission from:

  • Property owners
  • Landlords
  • Homeowners associations
  • Employers
  • Parking facilities
  • Building management
  • Other controlling parties

Miel Detail Co. may decline or discontinue service at a location that is unsafe, inaccessible, prohibited, or unsuitable.

36. Children, Pets, and Bystanders

For safety, children, pets, customers, and other persons should remain a reasonable distance from:

  • Pressure washers
  • Hoses
  • Electrical equipment
  • Chemicals
  • Polishers
  • Vacuums
  • Compressed-air equipment
  • Moving vehicles
  • Other active detailing equipment

Miel Detail Co. may pause work until an unsafe condition has been corrected.

37. Weather and Environmental Conditions

Miel Detail Co. may modify, postpone, or reschedule service due to weather or environmental conditions that reasonably affect safety or service quality.

These may include:

  • Rain
  • Lightning
  • Excessive heat
  • High winds
  • Wildfire
  • Unsafe air quality
  • Flooding
  • Water restrictions
  • Unsafe surface temperatures
  • Other hazardous conditions

Applicable rescheduling and deposit provisions are addressed in the Booking & Cancellation Policy.

38. Estimated Completion Time

Service durations are estimates.

Actual completion time may vary because of:

  • Vehicle condition
  • Contamination
  • Weather
  • Equipment
  • Customer requests
  • Additional authorized work
  • Unexpected conditions

An estimated completion time is not a guaranteed completion deadline unless expressly agreed otherwise.

39. Additional Work and Charges

If Miel Detail Co. discovers that additional work beyond the authorized scope is recommended, we may contact the customer and explain the proposed additional service and price.

Material additional charges will not be added merely because additional work appears advisable.

Customer authorization will be obtained before materially chargeable additional work is performed.

40. Results and Reasonable Expectations

Detailing is intended to clean, preserve, protect, and improve the appearance of a vehicle.

It is not equivalent to:

  • Repainting
  • Body repair
  • Mechanical repair
  • Upholstery replacement
  • Glass replacement
  • Paintless dent repair
  • Restoration
  • Mold remediation
  • Biohazard remediation

Results vary according to vehicle age, materials, maintenance history, previous repairs, environmental exposure, defect severity, and pre-existing condition.

Unless expressly guaranteed in writing, statements regarding expected improvement represent professional judgment rather than a guarantee of a particular cosmetic result.

41. Post-Service Inspection

Customers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle promptly following completion when reasonably practicable.

If you believe there is an issue with the service, contact Miel Detail Co. as soon as reasonably possible and provide information or photographs sufficient for us to evaluate the concern.

Prompt reporting assists both parties in preserving relevant evidence and determining what occurred.

42. Opportunity to Inspect a Claimed Issue

When reasonably possible, the customer should allow Miel Detail Co. an opportunity to inspect an alleged service-related issue before another person or business alters, repairs, cleans, polishes, replaces, or otherwise modifies the affected area.

This allows Miel Detail Co. to investigate the condition and preserve relevant evidence.

Nothing in this provision prevents reasonable emergency action necessary to avoid additional damage or waives a legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.

43. Third-Party Estimates and Repairs

Submission of a third-party repair or replacement estimate does not automatically establish that Miel Detail Co. caused the claimed condition or that the amount quoted is reasonable or owed.

Claims may be evaluated based upon:

  • Pre-service documentation
  • Post-service documentation
  • Vehicle condition
  • Services performed
  • Customer communications
  • Causation
  • Third-party findings
  • Insurance procedures
  • Other relevant evidence
  • Applicable law

When circumstances reasonably permit, Miel Detail Co. should be given an opportunity to inspect a claimed issue before non-emergency third-party corrective work is performed for which reimbursement will be requested.

44. No Automatic Presumption of Causation

The discovery of a scratch, malfunction, warning light, electrical issue, mechanical issue, cosmetic defect, loose component, leak, or other condition after detailing does not by itself establish that the condition was caused by Miel Detail Co.

Responsibility depends upon the facts, evidence, pre-existing condition, services performed, causation, and applicable law.

45. Responsibility for Damage Caused by Miel Detail Co.

Nothing in these Service Terms is intended to excuse Miel Detail Co. from responsibility for damage for which it is legally liable.

Where Miel Detail Co. determines that it is responsible for service-related damage, resolution will be handled according to the circumstances, applicable insurance procedures where appropriate, and applicable law.

These Service Terms are intended to distinguish service-related damage from pre-existing defects, ordinary deterioration, concealed conditions, and unrelated failures—not to eliminate responsibility where responsibility legally exists.

46. Payment

Payment is due according to the terms presented for the applicable appointment.

The customer is responsible for:

  • Authorized services
  • Authorized add-ons
  • Approved additional work
  • Applicable charges disclosed in connection with the service

Payment and refund matters are further governed by the Miel Detail Co. Payment & Refund Policy.

47. Deposits, Cancellations, and Rescheduling

Appointments may require a deposit.

Deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, no-shows, weather events, customer unavailability, inaccessible vehicles, and other appointment-related circumstances are governed by the Booking & Cancellation Policy.

48. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Nothing in these Service Terms prevents a customer from exercising lawful payment-dispute rights.

Miel Detail Co. may respond to a payment dispute by providing relevant documentation to the applicable payment provider, including:

  • Appointment records
  • Service authorization
  • Customer communications
  • Photographs
  • Service records
  • Invoice
  • Proof of completion
  • Applicable policies
  • Records of customer acceptance

49. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Miel Detail Co. is not responsible for loss or damage resulting solely from:

  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Ordinary wear or deterioration
  • Concealed defects
  • Defective prior repairs
  • Defective aftermarket installations
  • Customer misrepresentation
  • Conditions outside the authorized service
  • Events outside Miel Detail Co.’s reasonable control

Nothing in these Service Terms limits liability that applicable law does not permit Miel Detail Co. to limit or exclude.

50. Customer Cooperation

The customer agrees to reasonably cooperate with Miel Detail Co. regarding:

  • Vehicle access
  • Accurate vehicle information
  • Condition disclosures
  • Service authorization
  • Additional-work authorization
  • Service location
  • Post-service inspection
  • Legitimate investigation of a service concern

Miel Detail Co. may be unable to complete a service when required cooperation is not provided.

51. Right to Decline or Stop Service

Miel Detail Co. may decline, suspend, or discontinue service when reasonably necessary because of:

  • Unsafe conditions
  • Hazardous contamination
  • Threatening or abusive conduct
  • Inaccessible vehicle
  • Unsuitable service location
  • Materially inaccurate information
  • Undisclosed conditions
  • Equipment limitations
  • Risk of vehicle damage
  • Requested work outside our services
  • Other legitimate safety or operational concerns

Nothing in this provision authorizes unlawful discrimination.

52. Electronic Acceptance

Where these Service Terms are presented electronically, the customer may accept them through an electronic signature, agreement checkbox, booking confirmation, or another affirmative electronic action identified as acceptance.

Miel Detail Co. may maintain records showing the applicable version of these Service Terms and the customer’s acceptance.

53. Relationship to Other Miel Detail Co. Policies

These Service Terms should be read together with the applicable:

  • Terms & Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • Booking & Cancellation Policy
  • Payment & Refund Policy
  • Estimate
  • Invoice
  • Service authorization

A more specific written service authorization may control over a general provision of these Service Terms regarding the specific work authorized, subject to applicable law.

54. Changes to These Service Terms

Miel Detail Co. may update these Service Terms prospectively as services, business practices, equipment, or legal requirements change.

The “Last Updated” date identifies the current version.

The version applicable to a particular transaction will generally be the version presented or otherwise applicable when the service was authorized, unless the parties subsequently agree to a lawful modification.

55. Severability

If a provision of these Service Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the extent appropriate under applicable law without necessarily affecting the remaining provisions.

56. Governing Law

These Service Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California except where another law must apply.

Nothing in these Service Terms deprives a consumer of rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

57. Contact Miel Detail Co.

Questions regarding these Service Terms may be submitted through the contact information provided on the Miel Detail Co. website.
